The European Badminton Championships Madrid 2022 already knows its semifinalists
The first European rackets advance to the semifinals of Madrid 2022. The first surprises came in the opening rounds of the morning matches. In the mixed doubles modality Danes Mikkel Mikkelsen – Rikke Søby  managed to beat Marcus Ellis – Lauren Smith  in two games, 21-11 and 21-17; the favorite English duo for the gold of Madrid 2022. For their part, the Dutch Robin Tabeling – Selena Piek  surprised the local public after claiming victory against the Danes Mathias Christiansen – Alexandra Bøje  in three sets: 18- 21, 21-17 and 21-14.
The maximum expectation has been maintained until the afternoon, as usual throughout the event, coinciding with Carolina Marin’s match moment. The Spanish faced the Danish Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt , whom she had already beaten up to nine times previously. After taking the lead in the first set (21-11), the Spanish gave up the second set against an outstanding Kjaersfeldt (14-21). Marin showed off her high level of play and, accompanied and cheered by the public, she won the third and final set (21-17) to reach the semifinals of the Madrid 2022 European Championship in a match that lasted more than an hour of duration. The Spanish will face the Turkish player Neslihan Yigit  on Friday 29 at 5:30 pm. For her part, Danish Mia Blichfeldt  traced her match against Qi Xuefei (France) to advance to the next round: 16-21, 21-10 and 21-17.
The center of attention in the men’s singles modality was starring the Frenchman Toma Junior Popov  and Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus ; With a final result on the scoreboard of 20-22, 21-14 and 21-13, and with a very fast and consistent game, Popov managed to pass to the semifinals of the tournament. For his part, the Israeli player Misha Zilberman continues with a firm step towards the final of Madrid 2022, after claiming victory against the number 6 seed in the competition, the French player Brice Leverdez.
In the men’s doubles modality, the Scots Alexander Dunn – Adam Hall  secured a medal in Madrid 2022 after beating the duo Christo Popov – Toma Junior Popov  in two sets (21-16 and 21-13), with a consistent offensive game. The Scots are awaited by Ruben Jille – Ties Van Der Lecq  (Netherlands), who beat the Norwegians Torjus Flaatten – Vegard Rikheim by a double 21-13.
The women’s doubles was starred by the Danish duo Maiken Fruergaard – Sara Thygesen  who needed a third set to win the match against the French Margot Lambert – Anne Tran, with a final result of 19-21, 21-16 and 21 -17.
